About 128 kilometres off the coast of Louisiana an oil rig has exploded, throwing 13 people overboard. The Coast Guard has reported that all 13 are accounted for and one is injured. The 13 people await rescue in water immersion suits. The Oil Rig is owned by Houston-based Mariner Energy is known as The Vermilion Oil Rig 380, was not actively producing anything, but official could not confirm if there will be any contamination yet.

As we speak there is an update, has been reported that an oil sheen the size of 100 feet by one nautical mile near the site. All 13 workers has been evacuated to another offshore platform. The Coast Guard has said the fire at the site has been contained but not yet extinguished.

The Garmin company seems having some bad problems recently regarding their new devices of Global Positioning System. Media report that more than one million Global Positioning navigation devices have been added to the Garmin Recall list recently. About eight hundred thousand devices of this Navigation system has been sold to the United States of America, the company admitted that the problem is related to the battery of these devices. This battery problem can cause the wires to heat up and if its overheat can cause a fire. The Garmin recall list includes the ten devices that already broken out by this problem.

The company were lucky that the fire did not make more damage on any property of life. The company can easily identify the defected products by the serial number attached to each device. Apple has confirmed the rumor of their next moth event. Looked from many invitations for media-only has sent by them about their September event, and it will be coming next at 10am Pacific Time on Sept 1. Like usually, they didn’t open to the public exactly what the point that will be discussed at there, but if we concluded from the picture which displayed at the invitations (click the thumbnail beside to enlarge), it looks like the event will be focusing in music.

September media-only event has held annually by Apple about several years now. Each of the event was focused on their iPod. Although, the fans keep wanting another focus like iPhone or Mac to discuss, but Apple keep their updating for the iPod touch and introducing their new design of iPod nano.
